VG Chartz has reported that as of August 23rd The Nintendo Wii worldwide sales has surpassed the total number of Xbox 360 consoles sold since November 2005, making the Wii the fastest selling console in the world!

According to the report, the Wii has sold 10.6 million units worldwide compared to the 10.5 million 360 units sold since its release. Sony's PS3 has sold just 4.3 million units since its release.

Perhaps the most shocking news is the fact that this makes the Wii the fastest selling console ever, beating out Sony's PlayStation 2 for the Title!

The Nintendo Wii and the Nintendo DS are the fastest selling consoles in the world, putting Nintendo on top of the gaming scene!
