Due next year from San Francisco-based Emotiv Systems is the Project Epoc Mind Reading Controller, Which according to Emotiv, is supposed to detect its user's facial expression, discern emotional states, even distinguish between similar mental commands as "push the block" and "rotate the block."

It sounds like a crazy instrument from a sci-fi movie, but its real! Emotiv Chief Product Officer Randy Breen on describing an application for their prototype device. "This isn't meant to replace a joystick—it's meant to augment it, to humanize your avatar or simulate telepathy."

 Its a far fetched Idea coming out at the right time, the only question that remains is wether or not the idea will take off with gamers.
