NPD Group has just released Sales Figures for March 2008, and amid a struggling economy, the gaming industry continues to thrive. Sonys PS3 price cut is bringing the total unit sales just within reach of the ever leading XBOX 360 console. Super Smash Bros. took the top spot with 2.7 million copies sold. Rainbow Six Vegas 2 (360) took second and Army of Two (360) grabbed 3rd.

2. DS: 698K
3. PSP: 297K
4. Xbox 360: 262K
5. PS3: 257K
6. PS2: 216K

With gas prices soaring, many are speculating an even larger increase than in the videogame industry sales than is already expected. Their reasoning... look for more gamers to stay at home, and they'll need something to do.

While the US economy is in turmoil, the Gaming Industry continues to bust charts and break records. Videogames already drawf the music and movie industry, and we expect live videogame events to become the Theater of the 21st Century.
