1-07-08: Xbox 360 vs Wii: Microsoft nets 3.5 $ Billion in '07, surpassing the Wii by $1billion |
|
President of Entertainment & Devices Division Robbie Bach Predicts "the biggest year ever [of] videogame history" in 2008. Bach believes the XBOX 360 Console will dominate the market this year and he has made a staggering case to justify this possibility.
- Although the Nintendo Wii sold more consoles in 2007, Microsoft pulled in over $3.5 Billion through November of last year. Bach reports this figure surpasses the Nintendo Wii total by $1billion.
- Xbox Live reached 10 Million registered user, and it did so 6 months earlier than expected. (Resulting in the XBL overload which caused downtime during the Holidays).
What does this mean? Nintendo may have taken the title of "Most Consoles Sold in 2007," but Microsoft's 360 has a loyal customer base who takes advantage of the different types of media on Xbox Live Market Place...
