TGN's New York City Battle of the Masses!

When... 

Saturday Jan. 19th, 2008 gamers will converge on New York City for one of the largest and most exciting TGN events in History. Expect emotions and prize pools to be massive!

The Venue...

The most important aspect of hosting the New York event is the venue, so why haven't we listed it yet? Basically, it all comes down to money. Although we are ready to sign a contract for the event venue, we are taking the next few days to try and secure a venue which is more reasonably priced. Afterall, if we can get a nice affordable venue, it leaves more money for the winners. Regardless of price, we will have the venue booked Thursday (01/03/08) with the exact address and directions posted online.

Along with countless teams looking to earn Pro Status, there may be many well known teams and/or individuals at the TGN New York:

 Ages & Skill levels...

As always, TGN events are open to all ages & skill levels. From a 7 year old in Houston, TX to a 48 year old in Knoxville, TN all ages expected to attend. (An 11 yr. old, named John Charlesworth, won the 1st TGN Charlotte Open)

NYC will have 2 skill brackets, where the bottom 20%-30% seeded teams will enter a seperate "Casual" bracket with a reduced prize pool, (players can opt out of this bracket if desired). So if you love the game, but are not able to dedicate endless hours training, you can still go home with a win.

A Final Word on TGN NYC Open...

  Its no secret, Halo leagues are popping up around the Nation at a faster pace than ever before. Since the release of Halo 3, at least 8 new leagues have formed. But like the EGL and WSVG, many of them will go out of business in less than 12 months.In fact, only 2 national console based tournament firms still operate with over 6 months experience: Major League Gaming (established 2003) and The Gaming Nation (established 2005). Expect big things from The Gaming Nation in 2008!
