This photo was "leaked" on the internet in May 2009 debuting the PS3 Slim

June 30th, 2009:   OOOPS! PS3 info accidently surfaces from Hon Hai Precision Industry Company Ltd.

While the original factory photos built excitment of a PS3 redesign, a report from Economic Daily News shed a little more light on the redisgned console. According to their report, Sony had awarded several major production contracts to Taiwanese manufacturers for a PS3 Slim design, with the majority of the manufacturing deals going to Hon Hai Precision Industry Company Ltd.

Irony???..., the report stated that the orders were expected to ship in July. If Sony were receiving PS3 Slim orders as early as this July-Aug, expect an announcement to arrive shortly and a release range of late July or August.

July 12th, 2009:   YouTube Video - Proof or Spoof?

Just as the PS3 Slim rumor was moving out of the spotlight, a video emerges on YouTube of a completed version of the redesigned console. The user who originally posted the video, known as TheLastDestroyer, claims to have found the console in an underground market in the Philippines, where it was allegedly being sold with a DualShock 3 controller for 20,000 Philippine Pesos, roughly $415 USD.

As enticing as this video may be, it in no way proves the console is being produced.

August 2nd, 2009: PS3 Slim listing found on Amazon.de

To the delight of many gamers. Amazon Germany published a product listing placeholder for the PS3 Slim. The listing was released after the Main Stream News Media reported the story...

 So where is the PS3 Slim...????....

If the PS3 Slim console is indeed real. expect to hear something later this month during Germany's Gamescom. If this is the case, we now have the reasoning behind the Aug. 4th $50 price cut on 160GB PS3 consoles.
